"Everything is wonderful, and every day the country is more beautiful, and I'm amazed by the country. Here everything is beautiful and the weather is superb," wrote Claude Monet in 1884 to Parisian friend and gallery artist Durand-Ruel. Many were in Bordighera, where he arrived on January 18 and from there on April 3.

He stayed at the "Pension Anglaise" and stayed 79 days: less than three months representing Monet as an inexhaustible source of inspiration and for the Flower Riviera the memory of an unmistakable passage made eternal by the canvases where the artist painted Bordighera Then Dolceacqua, the medieval village that visited in a memorable day for him.

                                                                                                                              

We did a wonderful hike. Departing in a recent carriage we reached an extraordinarily picturesque village of Val Nervia. Intent on returning to Bordighera walking along a hilly path ... unfortunately I will never be able to tell the wonders I saw when I came back through paintings because of the difficulties I should face to come back to paint (C.
